The Broken Chain

THE BROKEN CHAIN

We knew little that morning,
that God was going to call your name
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone;
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us special memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same;
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

KYLE BERRY (DGAF)

First, I will  have to say, I haven't completely finished Kyle's Memorial Site...If any of you have any pictures you would like to contribute, please do so...I have some from his earlier years that I will eventually have scanned soon...
When I think of someone's legacy, the first thing I think of is children, which would be a living legacy if Kyle had the chance to have them...
But also legacy can apply to other things in someone's life, and saying that,  I can describe what qualities Kyle had in his mother's eyes, and also from what others have said about my baby.
Kyle was always a very sensitive person, compassionate, caring, forgiving, and to me like a big teddy bear giving hugs.   He loved his friends, loved to spend time with them,
and also a great protector of not only them, but to his family, whether it was his father, myself or the people we all cared about.  Yes, he was an only child, but he had so many friends who felt like a brother or sister to him.  Some mothers might be jealous if their child thought of the mother's of his friends were like second Mom's.  But for me, it just confirmed the fact that he was a very likable young man who was able to touch other Mom's like he did me.   His legacy was being a giver and not a taker, someone who you could rely on if you needed him, someone you could lean on and hear words of
encouragements from his soul to help that person..There's no better legacy than that.
